Flightcraft

Flightcraft announced the achievement of Philip Carrell as he celebrated his 50th anniversary as an aircraft salesperson with the company’s Portland, Ore., location on Jan. 11, 2008.

The Papé Group, parent company of Flightcraft, recognized Carrell’s 50 years of loyalty and dedication by presenting him with travel vouchers to celebrate his landmark employment anniversary at a place of his choice.

Carrell’s first sale 50 years ago was a 1947 Stinson 108, a single-prop, fabric-covered tubular steel aircraft.

According to Flightcraft, Carrell has sold more than 500 airplanes during the past half century, some for as much as $8 million, to customers as far away as Australia, Brazil and the Czech Republic.

A lifelong resident of Portland, Carrell began his career with Flightcraft right out of Clark College in 1948, the year the company was founded.

According to Flightcraft, Carrell said he has no plans to retire.  Despite the demands of the job, he said he finds plenty of time to spend with his family and to pursue his hobby of photography.  He is a member of the Columbia Aviation Association.
